I am honored that the South Atlantic Conference has appointed me as the principal-teacher of Gethsemane SDA Junior Academy. I welcome the opportunity to serve you and look forward to working with a dynamic staff, dedicated parents and involved school board members. Most of all, I look forward to working with our students and continuing the work at Gethsemane SDA Junior Academy.
I am coming to this school with years of experience as an educator in the public sector as well as the Seventh-day Adventist sector in the great city of New York. I understand that Gethsemane has a history of hard working administrators and leaders. My goal will be to continue building on what everyone has worked to achieve, and to use that strong foundation to move this school to the next level. Together we will continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities and academic excellence for all of our students.
Although my heritage is filled with the rich culture of Nigeria, I was born in Newark, NJ and raised in Bronx, New York. My daughter, Chisara, attends Oakwood University and is a product of Adventist Christian education from early childhood. I enjoy singing, eating, exercising, and being around family and friends. As part of my regular routine once school begins, you will know more about me during morning arrivals, afternoon dismissals, and throughout the day.
I am very eager to get to know all of you and your wonderful child(ren). If you ever have a concern, please do not hesitate to call the school, send email, or just stop by to introduce yourself any time as my door is always open to you. I believe open communication is very important in a school and for this reason, I will always encourage you reach out to me or to a member of the staff. I look forward to meeting you and may God continue to bless our endeavors this year.
Ms. Ijeoma Nwannunu, Principal
